We want you to tell us the questions you have for the City that you cannot find online: on the city website or in general. Information that is confusing or out of date, things that seem to be missing.
We will work on answers to all these questions on June 1 at the ReWrite Oakland event and in the future for the tougher ones. All these questions will be answered on a new, simple website for the City of Oakland we will be building as a community!

What questions do you need answered from the city website?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.

  1. Explain the city's role vs. the school district & the county on things I care about -- schools, streets, recreation, safety, clean air.

    People need help understanding how the parts of different local government do (and don't) work together. The City doesn't do it alone. Is there a simple way to explain the most visible functions/services?

    For residences that live in a multi-unit building, how to get landlord or property management to get a green yard trimmings/food scrap bin for either the building or for an individual. What is the process to go about this, delivery or pickup of the bin, cost, who to contact ect.

    Tax records are available through https://www.acgov.org/ptax_pub_app/RealSearch.do and taxes are usually between 1% and 2% of property value.
