Organizing Neighborhoods around Crime/Safety
Many neighborhoods are already talking to one another about shared
experiences of local crime; many other are not. Neighborhood Crime
Prevention Councils (NCPCs) - organized at the level of police "beats"
- work directly with Coordinators working for Oakland Police
Department. But there is no way for NCPCs to communicate with one
another; let's fix that!

As a block captain I agree. We get forwarded threads of messages and often information is late and incomplete. There have been instances where the police used one of our mailing lists to get the word out about an at-large criminal. It was very successful. Something that allows us to log/register crimes that has location, time and type would be very useful.
